It’s that time of year…

For interns!  Tomorrow 12 young men and women will start a 9 week internship serving in southern Honduras.  The team on the ground has been planning, prepping, and praying for their arrival for months and we are so excited to finally meet them all.  Of the six of us serving as full-time volunteers with Mission Lazarus, 4 of us started as interns.  No one can argue that this internship is an incredible opportunity for spiritual and personal growth and we all have a very special place for interns in our hearts.

So in honor of the incoming 2012 interns…here are pics from every intern year so far!  ENJOY :)

Happy Birthday Seth!

Seth turned 26th last Friday, and we celebrated over the weekend.  Those of you that know Seth, know he kinda has a thing for dinosaurs.  So we threw a themed party, watched Jurassic Park, and even had a dinosaur piñata (two for that matter!)  Here are some pics!

Mallory was in charge of finding a piñata.  At first, all she could find was Barney.  Seth was pretty happy with that!

After she purchased Barney, she was able to get a custom one done that was pretty incredible so she gave him two! He was very surprised.  Double the fun!

Check out those teeth!

We had awesome food: Barbecue Burger Sliders, Ham/Swiss Rolls, Potato Skins, Stuffed Jalepenos, Homemade Salsa. Many thanks to Mal, the master griller, for helping cook!

We also had awesome guests including Tristan, our dear friend, M.D., and soon to be first-year resident at Vanderbilt!!! He spent his last few free weeks with us in Honduras before beginning his residency and we were so happy to have him at the party. Becca Lynn is also visiting for a few weeks.  It was great to have them both around, but of course, we missed Meredith!

Here I caught a male group hug going on. Feel the love.

During the Jurassic Park intermission we had cake, ice cream, and some piñata destruction

I think Seth looks like a ninja in the following pic.

Happy Birthday to the best guy there is! Love you, Seth!
